We saw plenty of photos of the young Striped Skunks from the zoo's photographer, but we only saw them twice ourselves. They were pretty grown up once we finally managed to catch them on camera, but that wasn't the fun part. We were just standing there, trying to get a good look of them through our camera - not as easy as it sounds, since there's a bit of distance between where you stand and their enclosure, which is placed lower. You're looking down on them, and they tend to keep their heads lowered to the ground.
Not this time, though (although I should say, not all the time) as they were trying to get as much of a look and sniff at us, as we did of them. They would take turns to get up on their hind legs, wiggle their noses, and look altogether irresistible

Latin name: Mephitis Mephitis

Originates from North America.

Current status: Least Concern
