Most people who work at/ volunteer for/ visit a zoo, assume that photographers want the animals to get close, like really close.
However, in most cases, we actually want animals a bit further away, so we can come up with a good composition. Also, feeding them doesn't work for most photographers, unless you can get to their level.
A volunteer was really kind, saw our cameras and threw some kibble for the Skunks. They all emerged and started to scurry around - but scurrying and food often equal head down... Really difficult to photograph if you're standing above them, and can't get to their level.
Still, their curiosity was piqued enough for this cutie to inspect us in the best possible way
