Description
When: June 6, 2021
Where: Orchideeënhoeve Luttelgeest, The Netherlands
There's somthing almost magical about yellow Ducklings. They are often portrayed, but it's truly not at all common to see them.
I've tried and tried the past few years, but nope, not a one.
And sure, these aren't wild, but part of the zoo's collection but these yellow fluffballs are too cute
Breed: Call Duck (Hollandse kwaker)
Did you know:
…The Call Duck is small in size, and as such has a high-pitched call and quack.
…They are domesticated Ducks, nowadays mostly raised as decoration or pets.
…Historically, they were used by hunters; the Call Duck’s characteristically loud vocalization lured Wild Ducks to their death.
