Description
When: September 2, 2018
Where: Zoo Antwerpen, Belgium
Photographing in an aquarium is not easy, but we're still quite happy with this photo mainly because it's a frozen image that tells a story of movement
You see, a lot of people walked past this window, because it held some quiet Seahorses. They're pretty, so it grabbed the attention of some people but most passed it without really stopping to pay close attention. (That is, until they saw two girls sitting there, totally engrossed - then they wanted in on the action.)
You see, down below were more Seahorses - babies They were swimming, kind of dancing, going up and down and sideways and it was just so beautiful This photo is a testament to that moment, and therefore we wanted to share it.
Species: Slender or Longsnout Seahorse (Langsnuit zeepaardje)
Latin name: Hippocampus Reidi
Originates from the waters around North and South America.
Current status: Near Threatened
