Description
When: November 21, 2019
Where: Ouwehands Dierenpark Rhenen, The Netherlands
You may not expect it, but we really do have a fondness for all wild animals - not just exotic ones, but also those native to our country.
We just love seeing them wherever we go, and yes, carrying a camera everywhere we go, photos aren't out of the question. I think this was the first time we saw a Nuthatch this well, what a treat
Species: Eurasian or Wood Nuthatch (Boomklever)
Latin name: Sitta Europaea
Originates from the Palearctic and Europe.
Current status: Least Concern
Did you know:
…The Nuthatch can forage while descending trees headfirst, as well as when climbing.
…They are inveterate hoarders, storing food year-round.
