Description
When: October 24, 2019
Where: Apenheul Apeldoorn, The Netherlands
Seeing this cute and happy face makes me happy every time
We visited only a few days ago, and I'm pretty sure we saw him then, too - he was alone, and looked so sad A little over a year old, and I think his family told him to move out...
It happens, it's only natural, but still. No matter how unnatural, you hope to be able to see them all the time, any time wouthout having to say goodbye.
Species: Crowned Lemur (Kroonmaki)
Latin name: Eulemur Coronatus
Originates from Madagascar.
Current status: Endangered
Did you know:
…Crowned Lemurs are sexually dimorphic; females have a gray body with an orange crown, while males are a dark reddish brown, crowned with black and orange.
…They have long, non-prehensile tails which they use to balance jumping from branch to branch, but also for communication in their close knit, female-led social groups.
