I can never choose when Raccoon Dogs are at their prettiest - in their floofy, winter-ready coats, or their sleek summer coats?
There's something decidedly adorable when they're double the size with all that extra fur
Species: Raccoon Dog (Wasbeerhond)
Latin name: Nyctereutes Procyonoides
Originates from Europe and Asia.
Current status: Least Concern

They're a species entirely their own - they are part of the family Canidae but completely separated since they're so different
They're also known as the Tanuki, as they originate from East Asia.

Boy, they are adorable! 
I can't choose their coats, either, but I've always loved see them fluffed out in their winter coats. They look so huggable!

... and yes. I love the floofballs, from a distance, of course. I know there are people who keep raccoon dogs as pets, but I still think they belong in the wild. I will just have to look at them through your lenses!

Aww I love him, I think there adorable and if I could I would have one as a pet and take them for walks lol. But obviously I wouldn't really as it's not fair too them. There just such characters, I love the way there comical and use there front paws like a human would and then they always seem to be sticking there heads in water jugs and stuff. Soz I've been watching too much YouTube
