It's really too bad that animals are suffering from people's choices; I'm happy to see that a lot of zoos no longer breed with the leucistic Tigers. I know some have been sterilized, and others might not completely stop the breeding but allow them together with wild-color Tigers.
This girl's Mom - and her brother from the same litter - are actually the regular orange
She lives in a zoo, and luckily, there's no putting down the litter if they're not perfect in those place.s
I know that there are zoos who don't allow individual animals to breed when a litter was born with a recessive gene - either leucistic or melanistic. They want to keep it as pure as possible for the survival of the species, but they're fortunately not purposely put down

It's the ears, right?
I know my cat does that sometimes too, but with this young girl, there's a history of inbreeding and it causes for a slightly deformed face making her look sad no matter what...

Yeah, the eyes are sad pretty much all the time; the lids kind of swoop down in a half moon covering the eyes.
She really has to be startled wide awake for her to look not sad, but then she's just surprised. Also, a moment when she's looking up - those look very nice
It's the sad history of white tigers all over the world She's lucky that it's not *this* bad, at least from the outside. I think her mother has some better blood in her in a way, so they might be turning things around for these babies at least.
She has a brother who is the wild-color orange, like her mother, but she's white like her father.
We've seen her mother as a a cub, and as such, know that her maternal grandmother is also white (and suffering from quite some health issues now I believe, she's fairly old at this point). Her maternal grandfather was a golden tabby - quite extraordinary and beautiful.
This young girl has moved to that zoo together with her brother and we're really, really hoping they've got them both on contraception because it'd be such a shame if they let these babies - siblings - (already the result of inbreeding) also inbreed...

Beautiful photo.....but I hate the captivity.
Wild animals belong in the wild.

Thank you
Animals do belong in the wild, I agree. But I'd much rather see them safe in a zoo, than them being killed due to habitat destruction, them being killed because they've fled their habitat and entereddthe habitat of humans and are considered a threat, them being killed for their meat, to be used in medicine, for their fur, for fun, or being taken from the wild to be kept as a pet...
Even natural parks in Africa have fences and are regulated as if they're zoos.
The way we treat nature needs to change before we can even begin to change the world.

The thing may weigh hundreds of pounds of muscle, claws and fangs and also be capable of decapitating most prey with a single blow but... damn! She still knows how to do Little Kitty Eyes!

Haha, sounds about right - she stalks, and then she balks!
No catching anything this time around.

This is the one who will eat the crunchy photographer's head. I knew you'd find him eventually. Good show!

I'm pleased to know you were able to get away. Some of the critters you photograph show the signs of a disagreeable disposition. I will continue to watch for your obituary. Until then, MORE PLEASE! Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!
