It is not easy photographing these Birds - it never was, but it hasn't been made easier We try our best every time, and some do turn out better than others. So for a change, a photo of this stunning species
Species: Bateleur Eagle (Goochelaar)
Latin name: Terathopius Ecaudatus
Originates from Africa.
Current status: Vulnerable
Did you know:
…In Dutch, the name of the Bateleur translates back to “illusionist” or “magician”.
…Its name actually derives from the French, and means “street performer”, mainly the old tight-rope walkers, implying the bird’s characteristic habit of rocking its wings from side to side when gliding, as if catching its balance.
