Description
When: March 24, 2020
Where: Olmense Zoo (now Pakawi Park) Olmen-Balen, Belgium
Some people think "Ew!" when they see a Mouse, and honestly I don't know how I'd respond at seeing one in my house... We did come home late after a concert last year and found a dead one... Only thought "Aww, so sad" in that moment
Mice are quite common in zoos - they're attracted to the seeds fed to a lot of Birds. This is the cutest one we've seen so far though!
Species: House Mouse (Huismuis)
Latin name: Mus Musculus
Originates from pretty much all over the world.
Current status: Least Concern
Did you know:
…It is one of the most abundant species of Mus.
…Although a wild animal, the House Mouse mainly lives in association with humans.
…It has been domesticated as the pet or fancy Mouse, but also as the laboratory Mouse. As the latter, they are most commonly used in genetically engineered models for scientific research.
