Description Photo taken in May, 2014 @ BestZOO, The Netherlands

You can just see the two Serval kittens curled up together; while it's sibling was asleep in the lower half, this one wouldn't allow himself to fall asleep (yet).

Species: Serval

Latin name: Leptailurus Serval

Originiates from Africa.

Current status: Least Concern

 Did you know:

…DNA studies have shown that the Serval is closely related to the African Wild Cat, and the Caracal.

…Its long legs make it able for the Serval to achieve a top speed of 80 km/h (50 mph).

…The white spots on the back of the Serval’s ears are called “ocelli” and are used to signal kittens when hunting.
