When Kye and Sora return to the Capital after 2 years, the first wolf they meet is Peregrine, who as a Royal Guard trainee, is in charge of observing anyone who enters the Capital gates.

He knows almost everyone who lives in the capital, or at least knows their faces, so he instantly knows Kye and Sora are new to the place. After approaching them, he offers to show them around the Capital (speaking mainly to Sora), to which Kye immediately refuses, because he doesn't trust Peregrine and believes it would be safer for Sora to stay with him. Of course, Kye is being overly protective and basing his assumptions on when he lived on the outskirts of the Capital 2 years ago.

Peregrine admires his father very much, as he sees him as a knowledgeable mentor, learning his teachings from a young age. He gets along with his uncle, Kato, but is not easily fooled by Kato's attempts to change him.
Peregrine is next in line to lead the Royal Guard after Kato, which is why Kato tries to influence him.
