I'm a big supporter of the 2014 Ibrahim study of Spinosaurus which concluded that Spinosaurus was primarily aquatic, feeding on fish rather than herbivorous dinosaurs. It could also coexist with many other land based therapods as it wasn't in direct competition for resources.

It's a great study, well worth the read. But if you can't be bothered, there's a documentary named "Bigger than T.Rex" that covers as much as you need.

About the drawing itself: Based Spino's colours on the Eurasian kingfisher, that shares both similarities in habitat and diet. Also features some pterosaurs and coelacanths!
