So I was originally requested to simply draw a picture of SpeedFlash22’s OC who is a combination of Sonic and the DC’s The Flash. But I decided to add a bit to the picture. The pic itself is a reference to a battle Sonic and Shadow have in Sonic X.

I was watching Cars 3 Recently (Spoilers ahead) and the scene where Lightning Mcqueen is easily beaten by the newest rookie, Jackson Storm and then crashes in the race.

A fanfic idea came to me, what if there came a point in time when new heroes were rising while Sonic is getting a little older, still capable of great speed and skill but even he is subject to mortality, getting gradually slower with age, thus no longer being “the fastest thing alive” He resists the fact that there are others faster than he and even pushes himself too hard while being egged into competing against Flash Sonic, who isn’t even breaking a sweat and insults Sonic throughout the duel, commenting on Sonic being outdated and how he’s the new fastest thing alive. He is easily beaten by Sonic Flash and gets a broken leg, ending the duel. Sonic is physically and emotionally broken by the loss. After months of physical recovery, dealing with his anger and doubts plus l as encouragement from his friends, he eventually accepts that he has limits and can’t just rush into battle like he used to but has to come up with plans and new ways to beat his opponents. He enlists his friends help in training him in the art of strategy. He even wins some battles using the new found skills. At first his motivation is to rematch Sonic Flash but realizes that vengeance isn’t the best route when a real threat occurs. The enemy proves he is too much for Sonic Flash to handle alone so Sonic joins him and takes charge, both using skill and strategy to subdue the enemy. Sonic then decides that his new found ways of racing and combat should be used for, beating real bad guys. Sonic Flash is humbled by the battle and eventually apologies for his behavior earlier. Sonic accepts and they continue their relationship as allies.

(So pretty much a Sonic version of Cars 3 but he doesn’t retire as a hero and give up his spot for a newbie. He simply adjusts himself to overcome opponents using some skill and strategy XD)

I also decided to submit this pic earlier than my usual Wednesday and Friday schedule because I will be working a temporary job for the next few days.
