Hehehe. I like the lines and shadows of this photo, as well. I think that the people sitting and the lampost strategically positioned provide the break in the symmetry that is necessary to set up the composition in the manner that you did.

hehehe. looking at it again I just noticed that the lines sort of lean to the right a little. Is there a slope on this street? Dunno... but it makes it look that much cooler.

there are so many things that i love about this photo, but the one that really captured me was the lamp. to me, it looked liked a giant pearl. i love the colour as well, when i looked at this, i thought to myself that this was the type of colour and clarity that i want to achieve. and, after the 4th time ive looked at this image, what's really freaky (to me anyway) was the shadows, they look so perfect and in line, and i kinda feel threatened by them.
(meh, my good comment for the morning! lol)

I loved to read that, that first phrase
The lamp is indeed weird, in the good way. In fact, this city where I live has beautiful lamps and benches
I liked the color and clarity too, I think it was a bit of a fluke since I never took a photo like this!
And I'm so happy you didn't take just a glance, but several looks at it
The shadows it's the most beautiful detail to my opinion, and it's mostly the focus of some comments

I wouldn't want the windows to be cut, but to right side is the actual limit to the photo (no crop) and the left side I had to cut a bit because there was the back of a person

I'm sorry, but I'm don't live in lisbon, I'm from Aveiro, it's more in the way of Oporto. I never visited Madeira, but I saw many pictures of it, it's a very beautiful island, seems so peaceful! Don't forget your camera, take good photos
