the rough edges and unusually curved form makes it look more like a hideous fossil than a mech

ive actually seen this art used some where else, i think someone else may be using it for their own benefits, they did a rather good changing though.

Second one!
(tbh if someone asked me to draw megatron I'd probably not know what to do but he's obviously slipped into my subconscious anyways)

Not necessarily a favorite of mine, but I love the influence from ~NuMioH ....I can really see it. IT's good work.

To be honest, I wish I knew how to get that sort of edgy look to work in real media; my own designs tend to be a lot more lackluster on paper than they are in my head x_X

It's a lot easier to experiment around on the computer I think sometimes, since you've got a (basically) infinite amount of undos and whatnot, so you can sort of just let yourself go free without having to worry about wasting things or getting stuff wrong;
I don't think that's an uncommon affliction either though, and I am getting closer but I'm certainly not at the point where I can directly end up with a final product that matches what I had in my head all the time . . .

Fair to say, on both counts; I'm not sure any artist really gets to the point where the canvas is identical to the mind's eye; I'm still way off though.
Experimenting on the computer would be well and good if I still had a computer on which to experiment. Tangible media always have and probably always will be more available for me than digital media, as dismal as that sounds; a sketch pad is five dollars, sure it's only around 2,000$ US to start from scratch with digital art, which is where I am, but it may as well be 2,000,000$ looking at my income.
