Random-ass sketched of awesome 90's cartoon characters.Freakazoid, Ren and Stimpy, Pinky and The Brain, Brooklyn, and what was GOING to be Darkwing Duck, but never got completed. Yeah. the good shit.
Cartoons used to be cool. Now they're just shit.

Freakazoid and Pinky and the Brain are the best animated shows I've ever seen. I dream of their revival... On the other hand, I'm afraid that modern money-grubbing execs would change them into lame, pathetic, idiot-friendly cartoons...

Yeah, it's pretty obvious...Although there is always a rare exception.
A revival would be...I don't know. I don't think it could be even slightly similar to the original. They'd probably redesign the characters and add all kinds of crappy CGI. Or, hell, they might even decide to do the entire thing in CGI, that seems to be really popular right now.
And, yes. They (mainstream media) do have a tendency to take a cartoon and rape it of its IQ points. A sad truth. They'd probably tone it down so that the little kiddies could watch it...That's what I miss about the 90's, cartoons were (secretly) kinda for adults, too.

Execs think kids only want stupid live action programming than thought provoking animation which is terrible. Kids need to learn and be educated while laughing. That's why the animation in the 90s was great. They made children think.

Gargoyles is amazing...actually, you can buy the entire series really cheap with really good quality on Ioffer.com (where I got mine, ja). If you don't mind it being bootlegged, that is.

i dont mind. i was soooo sad when they canceled the series on t.v, one of the darkest days of my life. only my little sister hasnt seen them... kinda want to read the comics... (lol bootlegged)

Dude, the comics are the shit. You should definitely read them, or at the very least you should read "The Duck Knight Rises". Best. Comic. Ever.
Quackerjack is absolutely psycho in it, and you get to see Megavolt in a "crappy office job" (his own words). It's pure genius, and the characters are all completely true to the original series. I highly recommend it.
An' you should make your sister watch it. All children should watch it; it'll make their brains warped in wonderful ways. (Actually, I'm being kinda hypercritical, 'cuz I never watched it when I was a kid. I didn't have TV (I had a vhs player). I only watch these kinds of cartoons nowadays. Kinda lame for an 18 year old, huh? I try not to think about it too much).

it not lame at all. the other day i was having a conversation with my little sister about disney and the little mermaid and she said so me, "The litle mermaid... what's that." i nearly crashed the car. i still watch the 90's cartoons (heck I even watch the 70's) i remember quackerjack! though my favorite charcter was Bushroot. lol poor guy.

Wow. That's terrible. Well, actually, I can't say anything 'cuz I never watched any of the 2nd generation Disney stuff when I was a kid. Even now, as far a commercial Disney goes, I don't really like/watch any of the mainstream stuff during and post Beauty and the Beast.
'Cept for the TV shows, like the ones shown here. I'm a bit of a purist.

what was mainstream in the 90's is lowstream now, which is why it is so appealing to people today (or most of them). plus, things in the 90's were a lot less complicated... now i really miss that era...

Yes! That's it, exactly. That's why my mom gets so pissy whenever I bring home 90's stuff. She's all like: "Honey, I lived through Pee-wee's Playhouse, I don't need to see it anymore." And I'm all, like: "Yeah, but I didn't! This shit is COOL to us young people, mom!" And she's all: "Oh, whatever. Just don't let me hear that damn theme song. I used to have a roommate in college who was obsessed with Pee-Wee, and she played that damn song over and over and over again."
It's pretty fun. I'll be all: "Oh boy! Beavis and Butthead!" And she's all: "Oh no! Not those two again!"
Things that are new for me are already ancient history for her...it drives me a little crazy...
