With MegaMan 9 on the horizon, I figured I should be prepared for a possible MegaMan 10 contest. I won't get snubbed like I did with MegaMan 6 (the only game with designs from North Americans).Screw you, WindMan!
Rather than go the shield route like his Wood and Plant brethren, CornMan's weapon is the Corn Bomb, a hard kernel that explodes on impact in a popcorny blast! (MegaMan's colors are green and yellow when using the Corn Bomb.)
If anyone out there is a good sprite artist, I'd be forever grateful if you could make a CornMan. I tried editing some old Robot Masters, but I suck at it.
I guess now that Mega Man 10 is actually out (and brutally hard), I should change the title. But I won't.

Vision: You know, after playing Mega Mans One through Nine, I've acquired a pretty good idea of how capcom designs their robot masters. You take a random object or element, add "Man" to the end of it, and give the power to shoot the crap outta everything that's blue and pixelly. This is pure Mega Man, distilled from nostalgia and laid before us.
Originality: Imagine, if you will, the words "man" and "corn" in your mind's eye. Odds are, you'll have thought of something exactly like this. It's a man of corn. No more, No less.
Technique: Considering how much retro artwork Mr DNA does, it's fairly safe to say that he has a pretty good grasp on the games of yesteryear. The art style, as always, is perfect. Cartoony, colorful, and easy on the eyes. I can't find any faults here. Just as I suspected.
Impact: This is excellent, but a bit muddled. If the artist was trying to go for humor, as in "It's freaking CORN MAN", then he should have emphasised the eyes a bit more, as they're the only funny part of this. If this is serious, then the standard blue background certainly isn't helping.
Overall: An excellent deviation that proves that anything can be a boss if given the proper treatment. Although a bit ambiguous on impact, it still manages to excel.

Thanks for the critique, but are the eyes really the funniest part? They're pretty standard Robot Master eyes. I would've figured the Corn Buster on his arm got more of a chuckle than the eyes. Basically, I was just going for a fairly straight Robot Master drawing, albeit with a very silly theme. And I'm lazy when it comes to backgrounds.

It's the gaze.
Instead of looking toward his enemy, his eyes are directed at the viewer, and the kernels forming his brow make it look like he's giving us a sarcastic look. It's like "Yeah, I'm freaking Corn Man, so what."

It's always interesting to see what or how much people will read into things in a drawing. I made the eyes face the viewer simply because that's how most of the official MM art looks.

Well, they already made an onion boss in X7, so why not a corn boss. Anyways, very funny and awesome. I always liked how the series could take simple words like "cut" and "man," then put them together to make a great villain.
Coincidentally, Mega Man 9 is the game I'm looking the most forward to in the future (I'm ready to call it GOTY 2008), other than MadWorld (welcome back Clover), Little Kings Story, Rhythm Heaven and Bayonetta.

This fall is going to be 2-D heaven. MM9, Wario Shake, and Kirby Super Star Ultra. Sure, I already own the SNES cart, but it's a good enough game to buy twice.
Is Rhythm Heaven Gold really coming out in the States? If so, I may have to import the GBA version.

Definitely looks like one of those Robot Masters that looks and sounds like a cheesy joke boss when you first meet him, only to have your ass whooped by him EVERY SINGLE TIME EVEN WITH THE WEAPON HE'S WEAK AGAINST.

I wouldn't know, I never really got into the Battle Network series. I playd through most of the first one and Network Transmission. Either way, my Corn Bomb is little more than a corn-based Crash Bomb.

Yeah, it is a viri though, so they wouldn't base a Willy Bot off it, as Willy Bots = W(orld)W(ide)W(illy) Navi not viri. So even though the WWW Navi's are all acounted for, you should not the viri and avoid them, as I doubt they will base any Willy Bots off of them, and if I am wrong I will condemn Capcom for lack of creativity.
