I did this sketch at Wizard World in Philly. This, of course, is my reenactment of Spider-Man's tragic battle with the Green Goblin in which Gwen Stacey loses her life. Watch as I suck the drama right out of the scene!Related content

Yes but comic book character does not equal real life. One could think clearly about a loved one dropping to his or her death at any time; a comic does not make this happen. It's like if Sasuke died a million people would make fun of it. xD But I really do get where you're coming from.

Yep. Someone more learned in Spidey lore could probably describe it better, but I think officially, it was never clarified whether the fall itself killed Gwen or if her neck broke when Spidey caught her.
Either way, I found humor in it, and thus I am a total bastard.

Yeah, when Spidey caught her by just firing his webs directly at her to catch her, the whiplash broke her neck. I can't remember where, probably in one of the novels, Mary Jane (or some random token woman) gets put in the same situation just to mess with Spider-Man, and this time, he slows the victim down much more gradually.

I actually don't hate Gwen. Although, with each new movie, I hate MJ more and more. "Wahh, Peter, pay attention to me! Sure, you're Spider-man and risk your life to protect people, but I'm a failed actress with daddy issues! Wah, wah!" In Spider-Man 4, he needs to dump her and hook up with the cute Russian chick.
