Sorry it took so long to submit this and the photo sucks. But anyways this is the Western Wall, Kotel in Hebrew, it is the last remaining support wall for the Beit Hamekdash (Holy Temple), in Jerusalem. It is the Holiest site on earth in Judaism. It was done in art class over a month or two in acrylic. I still have to add one or two things to it, but chances are those changes won't be for a while, but they will tie it more together. I filed this under political because the Temple Mount is a political battlezone in the Middle East, and also because I don't think a site this holy can be lumped into landscapes. I am thinking of re-naming it 'Storm at Temple Mount' because the sky seems to be tearing up, the rays of light obviously are symbolic of G-d, and the contrast between the ghost like Minaret and the ethereal Kotel. It is in my opinion the best painting I have done, not just because of the subject matter but because of the mature (relatively) handling of the composition and paint. Full View Please!
