This series is from earlier in the year when I was playing around with gussying up Tank's look a bit. For those of you that may not be Daz heads, I primary work with Genesis 8 models; with the exception of some of my earlier 3D works (Gen 8 wasn't out when I first started using Daz about 7 years ago; Genesis 3 models were the newest at the time), almost all of my stuff features Gen 8 models. They came out with 8.1 models a few years ago and, as of this writing, they came out with Genesis 9 models several months ago. I've been very reluctant to using the 8.1 and 9 models; I've spent so much money accumulating resources for the Gen 8 models and while there are plenty of tools that will let me use many of those resources on the newer models, it's still kinda a kick in the pants to have to work with a model that's familiar, yet quite different at the same time! I do realize that there are some 3D aficionados out there that are still using Victoria 4/Micheal 4 (A much older generation of character model), but personally I think I'm gonna draw the line at Gen 8 with a few 8.1 models sprinkled in.
At the very least the Gen 8.1 models aren't majorly different. And there was a specific character that came out a while back with a very specific muscular physique that I really liked and I wondered what Tank would look like if I dialed in some if not all of that physique (Hard As Nails for Gen 8.1 Females www.daz3d.com/hard-as-nails-hd… ). Not to mention that for some reason Tank's Gen 8 model takes FOREVER to load and pose! So I decided that I would play around with making a Gen 8.1 version of Tank and in doing so I wanted to give her look a bit of an upgrade as well. I tried a different black metallic shader on her bodysuit/armor than what I've been using
as well as added a few more kit-bashed parts that I've Frakensteined from various outfits, such as the parts on her legs/knees/feet and and her hands/forearms.
Overall, I like how she came out...I'm sure that I will continue to make more tweaks to her design, as I've since come up with a few other ideas as well as have acquired other resources that I've thought about giving her/adding to her appearance.
