Description Saturday April 14th was the final night ever for Rocky Point Haunted House in Salt Lake City, Utah. This was my final clown makeup job that night, making it my final clown makeup ever! I am glad that it was my good friend Liz that I did the makeup on. I decided to throw in a "tribute" tattoo on Liz's arm to memorialize that final night. I am going to miss the creative outlet that RPHH afforded me!!

nice! how long did this painting take. and like how many artist do you have working on actors at one time? what kind oh air brush do you use? and so on. i love this kind of stuff i work at a haunt myself, ours is nice, but not that nice. we only started using air brush tools last seasion.

Typically it was only 1 artist per actor. We typically painted about 200 actors every night, there were about 15 artists working each night, so you had to crank through them pretty quickly to get them all ready for the show. When I was working at Rocky Point Haunted House, I was using a Paasche dual action airbrush. I switch up from time to time, depending on what I am working on. Right now I am using a Badger 150. I have an Iwata, but the tip is cracked and needs to be replaced, so for now I am using the Badger. I am not really picky when it comes to airbrushing! Which haunt are you working at? Maybe I have seen it? You can see some footage of Rocky Point Haunted House on the DVD called "Halloween - the happy haunting of america".

Sounds cool! And great idea about practicing on your friends during the off season. I recently got into the whole mask making thing myself- I am working on my first mask right now- it has taken me forever- never seem to have enough time to work on it. I am using WED clay, which is great, but I have to keep it sprayed down with water or the sculpt starts to crack and dry out. I hope to get the crazy thing finished soon, but I have so many projects going on at the moment, who knows when I will get it done!

ide start using plastaline then you wont have sot wet anything. its oil baiced. [link] they have it for a deacent price, i got my starter kit from them. and some good links to the industry.
if you havent seen them ide grab there book on the subject its very helpfull.
i worked on the sculpt since september for mine, and only molded it liketwo weekends ago. i have the first lates maks done now, but i need to get a new air compresser before i paint it. (and get some practis first. ) one thing though, mine had some warping in the latex, like the deep groves in the eyes would warp out a bit. but i think a bit of distortion is to be expected. lol anyways i could talk about this junk for ever. lol

You're welcome! I've used airbrushes before-they're hard to control! I can only imagine how difficult it would be on people! Okay, I will. She lives across the street from me.
