Cappy’s Not So Random Rant

A word of warning: you probably shouldn’t snoop around to learn the behind the scenes of the G1 Transformer show, chances are it’ll make you sad.

Allow me to make you sad!

The dude who is doing the voicework for Megatron, Ratchet, and Shockwave on Transformers Animated also did the voices for Brawn, Spike, and Shockwave on the G1 cartoon. The interviewer in stereotypical fantard fashion—thinking that recording booths were stuffed full of rainbows and cupcakes and that the staff had a twinkle in their eye that this canceled-in-the-fourth-season cartoon would someday lead to a grand revival—asked if there were any fun stories on the set of the 80s Transformers.

Some of us tend to forget that ten percent of 80s cartoons were accidentally awesome while the rest were just concentrated levels of butt. Almost every toy from the 80s had a cartoon. Do you remember the Monchhichi cartoon?
I hope you don’t.
Could you even imagine if today’s television had such lack of scruples? Imagine the nightmare of a Bratz Babyz cartoon serie…oh. Well, bad example. (also, if you want the FBI to raid your computer, look for the Bratz Babyz cartoon theme on Youtube to witness more pedo fodder than a Huggies commercial marathon).

Anyways, let’s say the 80s were a soulless time for the people who had to produce this stuff. The voice actor lamented the cruddy working conditions of having to read flat scripts, putting up with petty arguments between writers, and daunting hours in the studio in an isolation box talking to himself. The consensus from all the original cast has been that the only highlight was being able to hang out with the iconic Scatman Crothers (the original voice for Jazz).

The working conditions for cartoons nowadays has hit its renaissance, and Transformers Animated show is now one of the funnest jobs the voice actor has ever had.

More Transformer art mofos! This ain’t your daddy’s Transformers! Well…actually they might be.

You know, seeing as about ninety eight percent of my watchers are lotsa lovely ladies, I sure do draw pictures that probably should tick them off. But like an abusive relationship, you continue to click my links. “Maybe Cappy will change and draw Transformer slash for me!”
He never does.

But somehow I’ve worded my artist descriptions in a way that I’ve caused transfans to debate on several occasions whether Transformers are gay/straight/asexual/use a series of tubes. I don’t think I’ve even stated that I care what they are…it’s just the artistic interpretations IN GRAPHIC VECTOR RENDERING that cause your Cappy’s brain to weep dopamine to ease the pain. I’ve seen the art to prove you’ve taken very concrete stances. The art explaining their lack of crotches (OH STARSCREAM STICK UR PLUG IN MY PORT HOLE) will never, ever leave my mind.
Never.

So here’s Cappy’s more innocent (but still immature) interpretation of the cartoon series trying to cater to your fanficriffic ideas. I have art books that display character reference sheets, and since none of them make any mention to the location of (wait for it… ) Optimus’ COCKPIT, I have assumed that he is a baller, but isn’t ballin’.

No wonder Transformers are blowing crap up, they’re ticked off of
a) a lack of fembots
b) said fembots being very unattractive that their programmed lipstick is their only indicator
c) no outlet (literally!) to do anything with them

So what’s Cappy’s final say? I really don’t care what your interpretation is on robotantrics, as long as you continue supporting the franchise, and as long as you don’t link me to your in-depth tutorials on their procreation habits.
