Description UPDATE: Hey transfans! Do you like my Transformer humor, but can’t understand why I taint the rest of my gallery with filthy hyooman characters? I’ve opened up a NEW gallery that’s one-hundred percent robot rousings. Transformer jokes will still be uploaded to this gallery as well, so if you like my general jokes then there’s no reason to watch the other site. So if you’d like to follow along Optimus and gang thru transfunny misadventures, head on over to Cappitron!

Cappy’s (Not So) Random Rant
====================
Hmm, lemme see. Okay, got it! Tell me, what’s your favorite Transformers opening theme?
“JASSN!!1! THAT ISH 2 EEZY BREEZY! EV1 NOES TEH 1ST OPENING WUZ TEH BESTEST EVER!!!!”
Hey now, not so fast. I definitely think the best LOOKING intro was the first season, heck, maybe even the second season with the sheer amount of crap they were able to compact into it.
But song wise, well.
At the stake of losing my “hipster fan” card, I’ll have to gamble and admit I dig the third season’s intro. I’m a super sucker for what I like to describe, for lack of a better term, wailing. Wailing just strikes a good cord with me. Some of the best wailing choruses were in the Dumbo movie when Dumbo sees his mom chained up, and also at the end of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas cartoon. Wailing seems like a dead inflection. Those previous examples never fail in almost getting me choked up. Except in the Transformers theme—it’s just badass in that context!
OOH OOH AH! OOH OOH AH! AWWWW-AWW-AWW-AH!

Cappy’s Rockin’ Rendition
====================
Intermission from these valentine cards, I’m still bowled over at people’s interest in ‘em and I’m more than happy to fart out more after this. One day, my general art buddies, I’ll get back to more varied jokes. Until then, let’s retrofit the humor!

I tried my hand at drawing Brawn: the Autobot that kicked off Slaughterfest ’86 in the original movie. Wanna know what a Brawn valentine card would look like? Okay:
“I love you, but let’s save ourselves for marriage, and get married after the war. It just seems like the right decision!”
Oh, Brawn.
Not-so-fun fact: as traumatizing as the Autobot massacre was, the writer for the movie stated that there was an additional scene, where the remaining original cast would make a last-ditch charge with Decepticons firing on both sides, effectively wiping out the whole toyline. Could you imagine Huffer screaming WHYYYYY?!” as he’s sniped in the head? Now that I’ve got you in a cheery mood, let’s talk about the drawing!

You know, in the original cartoon it could have been possible to mistake a fellow Autobot for a common car. Conversely (that means opposite!), I think it was kinda stretching it with the live action Transformers movie. It defeats the whole “robots in disguise” ideology when you have big honking flames, a concept car that isn’t even available yet, or painted fugly highlighter-yellow. Despite intentions, Jazz was the only car that seemed least flamboyant. Of course, I’m trying to nitpick a movie about alien robots that took awhile to come to earth because they had their amazingly advanced technology thwarted by concrete. Man I can’t wait for the second film.
Wait, what’re we talking about again?
Anyway, if you’re curious, the answer is yes: the locale is Autobot City.

Hehehehe, I like it. Even Transformers are confused with their alt mode sometimes.

Now that I look at this, didn't Ironhide mistaken an ordinary car for Red Alert once. That made me laugh so hard

In my defense, I hadn't watched the episode for a good five years and only saw it when I was hunting down Red Alert's color scheme. But you're right, the episode was in "Auto Berserk". Fun Fact: if I recall correctly, going 'berserk' is inspired by the vikings. They would wear the skin of bears and effectively be taken over by the bear's spirit, resulting in an insane and ruthless fighting style. 'Berserk' is from the viking word for bear.

It's kind of strange to see Brawn smiling or doing anything other than yelling about things and calling Perceptor a jackass, but that second panel is alarmingly endearing. As for the "which theme music is best" question, I vote Beast Wars, and not just because I have enormous fan love for it. It has screaming guitars in it, and that is something that should accompany all transforming robots ever.

Could you imagine Huffer screaming WHYYYYY?!” as he’s sniped in the head?
As a matter of fact, I can. And it fills me with sadistic glee.

Luls. I like how Brawn looks so cheery in the second panel, and then at the end how prime looks so aggravated.

Well at least what ever he said will be kept just between them for sure.
I also love Prime's gummpy face.

Indeed, I notice inanimate objects keep the best secrets.

hahaha I love Brawn, even if he is a bit of a douchebag. Come to think about it, most of the mini-bots were douchebags. (I'm looking at you Gears and Powerglide especially)

On another note, I love how cranky you made Prime look. Most of the time people draw him placid, noble or a kind of "mellow exhasperated sad" look. Don't see much smartass, angry or cranky Prime.

I make mention to it in a future installment of the retarded valentine cards, but check out "The Master Builder" episode of the original series on YouTube. They have Prime playing basketball and being an absolute dink to the other players. His voice is stoic as always, but the wording could very well have been in sarcasm.

Personally, I think it's important to have imperfect characters because it's what makes them entertaining to watch. Don't get me wrong, I like Optimus as a good guy and noble and stuff, but even in my fanfiction, he has his faults

Without personality flaws, I find characters become bland and it kind of defeats the purpose of people being able to identify with them. That's one thing I like about the new TFA series.

Hey, you're more than welcome to have a differing opinion than mine. It'll be WRONG, but you're entitled to it.

Haha, of course I kid. I think I'm in the opposite boat because I've seen enough shows to realize that personality flawed leaders are the majority, whereas I could list competent leaders on my fingers. Sometimes it can highlight their humanity, but I really like to see characters with conviction, THIS is why he or she's the leader and inspires legions to follow them, it affects morale if your captain's crying into his pillow. I know I wouldn't put faith in some wussy who'd change strategy depending on hissy fit.
