This is probably the closest I've ever gotten to drawing June accurately. I should've made her hair a wee bit darker, but oh well. Here she's probably listening in on some dastardly conversation, or something....

Legend (book 1 of my trilogy being published by Penguin) takes place in a dark future, when the United States has split into two warring countries: the western Republic, and the eastern Colonies. It tells the story of a famous 15-yr old boy criminal named Day vs. a 15-yr old girl detective prodigy named June, and is coming out on Nov. 29 of this year. You'll be able to find it in all bookstores as well as on Amazon, etc. Legend has also been optioned for film by CBS Films and Twilight's production company, Temple Hill!

I love love love Legend, but there were some parts that seemed Hunger Gamesish...they were wee little things that can be overlooked but now this drawing of June looks a bit too much like a Katniss :/ I know you're the other, but I never imagined June with bangs. To me it doesn't suit her since she's a soldier and not so girly girly. And the bangs seem too katniss-ey sorry

Even if her hair isn't a darker brown, I can still get the June-vibe from her expression--and she's still really pretty!

Convinced a few of my friends and teachers to read it (secretly convinced that Legend will be the next big thing xD) Keep up the awesomness. I love the diversity of characters.
Lastly, huh when will the movie be coming out? Any specific plans? (Praying for you to answer lol) Hope the movie will be awesome

After I read a book that I really enjoy. I immediately jump onto deviantart to browse through other people's physical representations of the characters and further fuel my obsession with the book. I did the same with Legend and what I find to my immense chagrin is your page and your own representations of the characters. I am deeply impressed with your book and the artistry here. I will continue to follow your series and artwork and this drawing of June is exactly how I pictured her calculating face. Thank you for such an exciting and passionate read

I just finished reading Legend last night. It was amazing. Period.
I couldn't put it down! I was supposed to be studying for my finals next week
I love June. The way you wrote her thoughts and feelings felt so real (did that even make sense?)
Oh yeah.... How old is Thomas? I've been picturing him as a 23 year old guy all through out the book.
Anyway... Thank you for making this book. I really enjoyed reading it! I can't wait for the next book!

Ahhh its awesome that JuneΒ΄s Native American, White, and Hispanic. But it only makes me wish even more that I could act in the movies because thats what I am... Anyways, I LOVE your book. I had to read it for school and I was amazed by how much I liked it because I usually hate school books. And I am completley obsessed with June.
