Description just going to write some tidbits on certain things that i havent brought to light yet due to my insanely huge lack of time. I hope its enough to sate your taste on a few things about grems

The difference between a grem2 and a mutant grem, this topic has been questioned for a good while, seeing as i have no public information about the difference, ill do my best here to explain what makes these differences and what makes them so important to this world.

Grems come in a large variety of different forms, but the most common are Grem2 (human+gremtuk mix), Grem Hybrid(human+gremtuk+other species mix) and mutant (undead grem2), let me get a little more in depth about their differences.

Grem2

Everyone literally knows about what a grem2 is, they are a creation of DNA between the last remaining gremtuk(gremble) and human. Their meaning of existing is to tend to humans, but even then times tend to change things up, now grems are apart of the world as an independent species depending on where you go and what circumstances are put onto them. Grem2 can come with a large amount of traits, ranging from the original available traits, the exclusive traits, and the mutations.

Original traits are the ones available to whoever buys a grem (myo/custom), those traits are:
Ears: ribbed, long, koi, dumbo, city, mock, fan out, fluff, and knicked
Neck: Bare, ear fluff, scruff fluff, royal, ridge, poncho, trim fluff, hood, and soft serve
Tail: long, thick, brush, sheet, prehensile, curled, bulb, bun, curtain and tuft

Exclusive traits are ones that pop up from time to time, theyre a very rare sight and can range from minor to major changes, theyre not available for myos or customs, but they do pop up in sales from time to time, those traits are:

Ears: Moth, Dangled
Neck: Moth
Tail: Star, Moth

Mutations are traits that aren't supposed to happen, but randomly show up out of nowhere, these range from safe to dangerous and scientists are doing their best to hone in on what makes a mutation happen, those traits are:

gold fleck, Horns, Wing-like appendages, energy powers, wendigo's effect, scales, feathers, different coloured nails, and much much more! the amount of mutation possibilities are endless

Hybrids

These grems are usually always mixed with a different species, most of the time to make more cash for the corporation itself. They are most likely made to be strictly for human use, created for work or simply for vanity and status purposes. The most common of these hybrids are eskigrems, mantagrems, and growls.

Eskigrem example

Eskimo grems (aka eskigrems) are a subspecies/hybrid to grem2's, they are second generation and are more of a mastered version of the human's design at GremCorps. These limited edition grems follow a different rule path than the usual grem2, and are more magical than you could believe. These eskigrems are built for the snow, having soft and fluffy hands and feet to protect them from the cold, and short limited tails to prevent them from being caught by any predator, with star-like eyes that usually come in a variety of blues. But that doesn't stop there!!!

Mantagrem Example

Mantagrems are a species mix between grem2's and mantasharks (Species owned by Kemikel ), this species is strictly meant for vanity purposes, but make the perfectly fishing machine, ranging around 7 feet tall and having the bite force of a tiger shark. The large mantagrems are well known for their snappy short tempers and are recommended for people who own super large plots of land with a whooooole lot of water for them to live in. Mantagrems are theoretically meant for water, but can live outside of water just fine, they do however require hydration every few hours and bigger doors for their massive wings. The traits of a mantagrem range between both species, they also come as mantagrem minis! those 5ft nerd babies.

Small Fact:
-Strictly carnivorous
-Their wings are velvety soft!
-despite them looking so large and heavy, they are surprisingly lighter than you think
-can be drawn without their wings

Growl Example

Being only 2-3 feet tall thanks to the petite size of the cervowl species(owned by LastNight-Light ), Growls are a fun-sized pal that specialize in being your perfect tiny buddy! Although they are more well known for being nothing but sweet to you, don't let their cuteness fool you! They are also known for being little kleptomaniacs if their grabby ways arent quickly attended to.

Small Facts:
-Growls are herbivores, eating specifically berries, nuts, and fruits
-They are sentient creatures, almost matching up to the intelligence of humans
-Their feet are a mix of hooves and claws and have been seen using their hoof half of their feet more than the claw half of their legs.  (the claws are used mostly for support, not for walking on, this may vary though)

Mutants/Cypherus

These ever elusive creations have been the mystery for everyone at this point, no one knows much about them and yet they exist just fine! A cypherus is created through one way and that is death. For some odd reason, when a grem2 is about to die through a traumatic experience matched to their doppleganger, their blood mixes into one blood form which kickstarts the body into a different state of existence. Some say that there is another world parallel to theirs, where every grem has a dimensional doppelganger somewhere in a different universe (like gremble!). when both dimensional grems die at the exact same time in the exact same way, the other dimensional version of your grem (the cypher version) is brought into our world.

Usually when they are revived as cypherus, the odds of them being safe and dangerous are very unknown and can be extremely unsafe to practice. This is why every single cypher grem is different and the possibilities are literally endless on what they can be. They can range from sweet, edible, full of paint, or be absolutely deadly, having the potential to destroy an entire world if possible. Cypherus creation is EXTREMELY RARE to achieve and are very top secret. Many unethical tests are done in private to understand how it works, numerous test subjects are put through tests where dying and being resurrected becomes as normal as brushing your teeth every morning. Most come out brain dead, others have a huge amount of health problems, and an undisclosed amount of grems die due to these tests. Most Cypherus are even terminated specifically because they are proven too unsafe to be sold, the whole project is a terrible and expensive practice, gremcorps is doing all they can to cover it up from the public, and its working.

how can you tell the difference between a grem2 with mutations and a Cypherus? blood

Cypherus only have one blood ONLY, most seem like they have two, but that's only to fool you into thinking that it's a grem2 with mutations.

you can also tell the grem is a Cypher when you see (CYPHERUS/CYPHER) anywhere on the image or description.

Can Eskigrems actually change into their dog form? Or are people just allowed to draw them as dogs for fun?

I feel like this has been touched on before but I can't find it
Are mantagrems skin like seals? Either like thin layer of fur or just nekkid? Or are they actually fuzzy?

MrGremble In reply to Winterfaux [2017-03-13 21:26:51 +0000 UTC]

its kind of up to you! but i imagined them being rubbery and softlike sharks or stingrays
and then growing hair and being partially furry on land

So would a cypher cost more as a MYO than a regular Grem?
Are we even allowed to make cypher MYO's?

Is it possible to get a quick over view of energy powers? I am reading so much here, powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/En… So many cool powers I didn't know about ;u;

But would any form be possible as long as you stuck to one form of energy manipulation, since it's such a general term (as I just found out). Or would certain ones be off-limits for sure? Specifically the more over-powered forms, like Nothingness Manipulation: powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/No… , or Chaos Manipulation: powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Ch…
Energy Embodiment: powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/En…
Also can energy be different colours?

There are a few others but this is more than enough information c:

Thanks for your time on this, merely curious for my own bab.

quartz-witch [2016-01-07 01:08:21 +0000 UTC]

so is a typical grem2 with a horn trait considered a Mutant/Cypherus? or is it just that trait is a mutation not the entire grem2?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MrGremble In reply to quartz-witch [2016-01-08 17:16:56 +0000 UTC]

a grem2 with horns is just a mutation, it can pop up on any grem from time to time

Hello! I'm just wondering since there are more mutation traits listed here than in mrgremble.deviantart.com/journ… , are we only limited to the mutations listed in the journal or does it include the ones here too? Sorry for bothering

MrGremble In reply to ClsekBear [2015-12-16 03:38:57 +0000 UTC]

you can only use the ones in the journal you linked only because the others arent drawn or established
