Description Hello. This thing might actually work out. Mechanic in the back pulls the bowstring with the slide, the slide pulls an arrow out of the magazine, shoot...simple and fast reload system.

Well the idea of an Automatic Crossbow isn't too insane. The Chinese did come up with something similar called the Repeating Crossbow.

No problem, here's the wikipedia page for this interesting Chinese weaponΒ that is the Repeating Crossbow

Too bad you can barely aim with it. Looks like it was more of a close quarters weapon.

1. Can I buy this off of you?

2. I see it working out more like a bolt action due to the fact you have to "cock" (pull back) the bowstring. Like the idea and look, but I find it hard to picture the slide mechanism lifting an arrow/bolt up as it pulls back the string. But who knows.

the thing with magazines is that they are spring loaded, and without a barrel of some sort, the bolt would just fly out when its pulled out of the mag. But anyways, this is one hell of a kickass model, better than any i've ever seen. good job mate!

Everyone who wishes to survive the zombie apocalypse needs this!

Technically, I really do not think any mechanism in the stock is going to pull the cord back.
I have a crossbow with a kickstand because the draw is pretty high.

But I like the idea!

i forgot how to link stuff but you can find a homemade semi automatic crossbow on you tube.

EbolaSparkleBear In reply to mrhd [2013-12-29 01:49:40 +0000 UTC]

Yes, there are a few and they all lack power.
There are at least 8 different designs for personal units.
They all lack power and range.
The super old school Chinese one is really cool, but it relies on multiple people and large volleys, not power, range, and accuracy.

The only functional piece was the large siege engine type they built on Mythbusters.

The best crossbows have draws that are too far beyond the ability of compact mechanisms to set.
That's why they have stirrups, because you need to stand on them to pull the cord.

PDMonitor [2013-09-20 14:44:42 +0000 UTC]

This just remembers me of the fact that crossbows are totally legal in Germany ;D You can make it strong enough to shoot through stone walls, as long as it is a crossbow, it's ok

The model looks really good, but i have to agree with *crazyforthedesert, the scope won't be of much use there. You could just attach it to the pull-mechanic at the back

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lmr54 In reply to PDMonitor [2013-09-20 21:47:39 +0000 UTC]

Eh, actually the scope looks like a red dot. It's fine at that distance. And there's nowhere else to mount a scope.

crazyforthedesert [2013-09-20 13:28:24 +0000 UTC]

Scope is too far forward to aim through with the bowstring "loaded", other than that, nice!
