Description Not my best =/
the effects didn't turn out very well either.

NOTE: That's a tank on the back not part of the VTOL craft

Simply amazing detail here. are these piloted or AI assisted? OR ARE THEY piloted via nueral link to a pilot in a safe area?

Thanks, this is an AI aircraft, the passengers in the tank control the location of dropoff or pickup but no one ever really drives them.

looks pretty awsome, its interesting and quite helpful as i'm trying to design soemthing similar to carry Q.A.Ms (QUAD assault mechs- kinda like zoids but less asthetic and more badass)

I see, i really want to make a quadrupedal mech right now actually...been a while since i did something with more than bipedal legs. I'll stay tuned for that mech btw.

i like to use quads as they tend to be the fastest way to get around on legs, i usually go for bi-peds as its best for combat, but the quad type mecha is a much mor stable platform for artilery and heavy weapons, and they look badass

Yea, a very large majority of mechs i made were bipedal so it comes to me fairly easy in terms of articulation but quadrupedal is a bit tough for some reason. I'll probly copy some other persons work to learn to do it. Bipedal mechs can be pretty BA with artillery if you do it right.

i learned my stuff from zoids [link] , its pretty awsome stuff i have a few drawings i did , but it was so long ago i lost them

i based the design on the zoid main vehicles, but i made som massive design changes, re working it it from the ground up, replacing the single chasis with two seperate sections, with a central joint, changing the shoulder joingts, etc. So i think i've really made them my own by rebuilding it in my own way, i also ditched any lasers in favour of gatling guns in the mouth( it was based on a lion shape, i had another that was a deset fox apperance, the outer armour i often make decrotive like the show, but i have versions without all the fancy stuff)

when it comes to bipeds i know som pretty badass heavy weapons configurations
[link] one of my concepts for my M.A.W (medium assault walker) by comparison to a H.A.Q.M
(HEAVY ASSAULT QUAD MECH) its a bit of a light weight

[by the way i make the distiction between mech and walker based on its movement, mostly humanoid/animal based would be mecha, and walkers are more like starwars stuff]

I'm no fan of zoids but i do like your work, it's definitely better than zoids.

I make the distinction between walker and mech as categories, walker being the main category and mech being a kind of walker (one that is piloted by a person) and the other being robots. I'm sure the literal definition is just anything that has legs tho

i think thats true on walkers, my walkers tend to have multiple pilots , more like a two seat fighter jet configuration, my mehcs (humanoids) are controled like a giant puppet, with a motion feedback harnesswhich enables the machine to act exactly as a human, interacting with the environment in a way that no other unit of the same size can

and because it can be controlled form inside the mech, or by remote uplink, the same technology can be used to control avatar robot infantry, so a bit like the movie surrogate
works out well, essentailly the british faction in the story have their own remote control terminators, the darw back to this is then need to carry a communications repeater in em interferance zones(of which there are many in the story)
the US faction , from where the origional battle droid chasis was developed, don't use the remote uplink, instead using highly developed programing

I've seen that concept use fairly often, it's quite a good idea but i guess there isn't many other ways you can control a robot though. My robots/mechs are either controlled remotely from a distant location by a group of people. 2 people pilot the legs and navigation, 1 person for arms articulation 1 person for weapons command, 1 person for maintenance and 1 person for overall command. otherwise it's usually 3 people, 1 for legs, 1 for weapons and articulation and 1 for command. The only way it works though is with alot of automated commands prescripted into the robot, otherwise it would be difficult to command every servo in the legs to get a walking motion.

sorry for the late reply.

ah cool team controls are cool, i have a few mechs and walkers with a crew, its good so long as efficient communication can be achieved , i tend to stick with single pilots on small vehicles, and sometimes 2-3 man crews on larger machines, but not usually higher than that, though most have capacity for a second pilot or extra crew for long term operation such as recon/patrol where the mech will be deployed for days or even weeks at a time, i've also included a facility for tents and food to be carried, but all thats kind of an add on kit

automated commands are good, much more efficient in combat and almost essential to smooth performance, most of the heavy walkers i design are assisted by a series 3 AI (series 3 are quite advanced, but assigned to ordinary tasks unlike series 5 which are used to assist capital ship systems, or 6 which is near enough sentient and used in highly secret roles)

very cool, seems like you have your storyline all thought out. every time i try and make a common theme i just get distracted and bunny trail unto something else.

well i have a lot of things i've brought together the project started out a bit different it was going to have onlt propeller engine tech at first, but that was too limiting, so now its ultra modern, but not too futuristic
many of the idea i have are from random brainstorms i've collected up, i know what you mean about distractions though, its a nice break from one thing to draw random stuff though
