They did not stay intact. In the updated version, the Jordan, Israel and the Hejaz remain under British control. The chaos on the continent with France being split into two parts based on the Seine river derailed British and French plans to partition the rest of Arabia and Turkey. Instead of Ataturk winning in the chaos of a greater Ottoman Collapse, a communist faction won, as was able to seize the parts of the Ottoman Empire that where not lost. To throw a bone to minorities in the empire, various autonomous regions such as in Kurdistan have been formed.
Its not a fun place, while some minorities are better off, many groups not in the autonomous territories, or express Pro-Russian tendencies are often severely persecuted.
