All right, I've just finished reading all of the comic up to this point. I think you've got some fine ideas working here.
Using colors as a grand prize seems brilliant and absolutely fitting for a world made of toons.
Also I like how the murders were given a bittersweet purpose, explaining why Mona (I might be using the wrong name since I haven't memorized all the characters yet) didn't disappear along with all the others.
