Description
This is the new banner for my Tapas page featuring Ezekiel Dereleth in all his glory.Β I based this on St. Dominic Savio, the patron saint of delinquents.Related content

I like how you made the guy there one side human and the other part zombie-like, but the zombie-like part JUST PLAIN FREAKY! Even the sleeves contrast with each other.Β

I love the black and white palette, it gives a really dramatic lighting. The contrast very high though, some shading could really give it more depth, unless that is what you are going for of course. The high contrast is actually what caught my eye, and made me click on it!
The overall anatomy is good, although a little off in a few areas, such as the hand's thumb and index finger being the same length, and shoulders being different widths.
I really like how you drew the left eye, the dark eye circles paired with the small pupils give him a very tired but intense expression. The folds and creases in the clothing have good shape to them, the curves make them look realistic and avoid looking flat.
In terms of composition, the canvas seems to cut off at the right arm, yet has some empty space at the left side. Cropping and extending these areas could add more balance to the work. I love the the large Pisces symbol, it looks looming and ominous.
Β Lastly, the I'm fond of the sketchy crosshatch shading, it gives it a vintage illustration vibe, as does the line work. The lines do feel a bit inconsistent, some lines are very fine and others thicker, but not much gradation between the two. A bolder outline, and more variation in line thickness would really bring it forward!Β
