Description Yeah, this isn't my art, and I didn't even know how to categorize it, but it is a gif in which yours truly captured a moment she thought was cute and I realized there are actually Nosferatu fans on DA who would appreciate it. Oh, dear. The rest of you: unwatch me now.

Hutter realizes him and Orlok are going to be neighbors. Orlok gestures and thinks, respectively:
"I signed it! ...Hm, I don't know if he's happy about this. Not that I care."

Oh, cool. I'm the first one I've ever met, too. :-D But they're here at DA. A couple here and there.

That's not surprising. And I shouldn't judge. I'm madly in love with the Martian Manhunter.

lol Fantastic: I'm converting people now.
It's that little thing he does with his mouth to one side, isn't it? Guh. I was doing it all yesterday while thinking about him. lmao

Haha your obsession with fictional characters cracks me up ;D I guess because it's always the characters I would least suspect, yet I can understand why someone would be taken with them, like here...

Fictional characters are, on the whole, better than real people. lol I'd sacrifice a whole ton just for people like Hare to exist. But hey, maybe that sounds a little psychotic.

I appreciate it, that you can find appealing traits in the people I fancy, though. I wasn't sure about this one. Sometimes I'M not even sure - I mean, he was bad-ass. Even the original Dracula didn't bring the plague to a place he wanted to attack, although it was a smart plan to get them frantic, distracted, and stuck in their homes, which makes Orlok clever, and cleverness is... ughhh. Hot. But it's the plague! But he's clever. But... but... oh, maybe I love to hate him.

Haha well, of course they're better, they're fictional and so act completely at the whim of whoever created them! But, the nice thing about real people is that, well, they're real! XD

Yes, but what does it matter if they're real if they aren't meaningful? A lot of real people are less real to me than fictional entities because they don't inspire or change anything.

I'm sorry, Rikki, you know I enjoy your conversation!, but here's a text mound. XD I've got all kinds of objections to characters being at the whim of their authors! From the POV of someone who didn't create the character, they're powerless enough that the character is as much like a real person as anyone else unaffected by their imagination. In the POV of the creator of the character, it's an illusion of power, unless you're a horrible writer who goes against your own rules. It starts off that you're in control, until things start getting complicated. Then, basically, you go with the tide. The deeper into the novel you get, the more it's like you're out at sea and the waves are getting bigger. It's free will the entire time, but do you want to die?! Is it important to you that the ship not sink?! Why would the universe throw this horrible storm on you without warning, and what are you going to do if you make it out?! I feel that way about He's There right now. lol

I don't think fictional characters are better because they're puppets - they're better because they're people who disrupt the flow of the mundane. They're what you look for, anyway, in real life, while going through a lot of useless personalities, jerks, and idiots. Or, if they're a jerk or an idiot, it means something. Life is so short, I feel like I don't have time to interact with people who won't mean something.

Haha, well written and I enjoyed it. A new perspective for me. I just fear that involvement with fictional characters can take away opportunities for real, meaningful relationships that can give so much... I mean, I guess it's just my experience and mindset.

Oh, of course. I'm permanently fucked. My standards are in the realm of the fantastic and it's very hard for me to even notice people as romantic potential most of the time. But it's give and take, because the characters too can give you so much. Without Phantom, I don't know who I'd be or what I'd be doing. Anddd... I appreciate having fictional crushes because real life people crush me, whereas the characters are consistently wonderful. lol
