"To a new world of Gods and Monsters!" This is amazing.
Dead on likeness and incredible detail. I hope I got the quote right since it's been a long time since I watched Bride of Frankenstein. Brilliant film. Period.

Yes - that's the quote, and what an amazing film, you are right! Thanks for the comment - Ernest Thesiger, who played Ptretorious was also brilliant in 'The Old Dark House.'. which is another huge favourite of mine

Great artwork to one of the best mad scientists on film.

That was also the name of the other scientist in 1986's From Beyond, ever seen it? Lovecraft film

He was wonderful wasn't he?

I've not seen 'From Beyond' but certainly intend to. I'm reading a lot of Lovecraft at the moment. 'Shadow over Innsmouth' is my current favourite

From Beyond is a most recommended movie and you should check it out on blu-ray as it's a must own for fans of horror, sci-fi and lovecraft and as good as Re-Animator.

It has a mad scientist who's name is a homage to this character only the Pretorious in FB is more into S&M and he's a sleazoid.

I am looking into this, thanks for the recommendation. I saw a film called 'Chill', based on Lovecraft's 'Cool Air'. It was panned by critics (like a lot of good films are), but I loved it!

The hair is spot on! That's what I always remembered about this particular character. That and the fact that he first runs into the monster in the catacombs and doesn't seem to be alarmed.

Thank you!

You're right, Pretorius seems strangely at home amongst the dead! Especially when he raises his glass to a world of 'Gods and Monsters!' Terrific character.

Ohhhh!! Pretorius!

Marvelous work. This really is quite pretty, one of your best in fact. And how can you go wrong with good ol' Pretorius?

Thank you - I am pretty pleased with it (that doesn't often happen). My only real problem is the spelling of his name. Is it Pretorious? Pretorius? Either way - a wonderful character from my favourite film.

You're welcome. As well you should -- this turned out great!

Hmmm. You know, I've never been quite sure about the spelling of his name, either. But like you say, a wonderful character. Bride of Frankenstein is one of my favorites as well.

Thank you!

I don't think there will ever be a film that tops it!

You're most welcome.

It's certainly one of the best ever made. Very few films could hope to rival it.
