Boncyff Nadolig, Yule Log - call it whatever suits you tongue best.

Despite my profound fondness for food from the frankophone realms of the planet - next year I'll go back to the good old Plum Pudding. (Which is basically a coal-coloured lump with a sprig of holly shoved into the top.)
This log was a real pain to make. Why on earth did I bother to plant that meringue mushroom forest on top...

The branch is 18mm in length and made from polymer clay, so are the funghi and the cardinal.
The bowl in which it sits is a chestnut with a funny dent.
