I wrote this at the club posting of this and then realized you might not see it there:

This is a horrible thing that you had to go through. My husband is a Marine and he almost lost his job when he helped a female Marine through something very similar. She was assaulted and we took her in when everyone else walked that "we gotta stick together" line. She was young like you and he was a horrible man. My husband had to use every ounce of his self control to not beat him within an inch of his life.

I am so glad to see you write this and that you seem to have found a way to survive and continue on. My heart breaks when I hear of things like this. I know that there are men like this everywhere, but when I hear of military guys being like this it seems to frustrate me even more. You expect more from someone given the responsibility of being in command and of taking care of troops. It is inexcusable when that authority is abused and twisted the way that this man and others have.

Be proud of your strength and that you did the right thing. Be strong in your survival and be proud of it as well. Best wishes to you and I hope others will find strength in this piece.
