Experimenting a little with a couple of features in the Firestorm viewer on Second Life. (these are probably also available in the normal SL viewers as well)

The blurry background and sharp focus on the avatar was using a "depth of field" effect.

The brown sky, light and atmosphere were done by using custom environment settings.

The bronze armor outfit I picked up from a place called barerose.

The background if you're wondering is the Australia Sim

[EDIT: correction - according to my inventory it's a "Brass Armor" outfit - I had called it bronze when it was uploaded]
