Deviljho's roar famously sounds more like a bomb going off than anything else, so apparently his successor decided to just be a one-monster saturation bombing. (Yes, I know, Steve. Sorry Steve, you're a joke. So few of your attacks deal significant damage or knockback that a Great Sword or Switch Axe user can pretty much trade hits with you and comeΒ out on top, and your roars don't even require HG Earplugs.)

The point of Seregios is that it inflicts bleed, which can do huge damage if not dealt with immediately, and that it attacks frequently and moves quickly.

That would explain why my tendency to go into hunts with whatever skills negate what the monster can do negated him entirely, or at least pretty close. Also, the movement thing would make Great Sword a hilariously bad matchup for him, and his armor gives the gold standard of Great Sword DPS skills...
