Description This is the first piece for my Junior mini-thesis.
I am having so much fun doing paper cuts, you have no idea.
its a cut paper silhouette. Eventually I'm going to work more colors and layers into things, but this one was just to get into the swing of it.

Congratulations on the DD; it is well-deserved! And it's awesome to see another papercutter here! I also use an x-acto knife for all my cuttings. By the way, if you might be interested, I am the moderator of an active papercutting forum, and we would love to have you there (the others there are a really nice, helpful and very talented group of folks)! That's great. How big is the actually piece and what did you use to cut the paper so cleanly? Exato-knive or something else?

the piece is about 9"x18", it was cut from Canson charcoal paper using an exacto knife, #11 blade.

Fantastic! All the panels are impressive in their own right but the middle panel with the swallow really stands out for me. The herringbone pattern is impressively cut. I also really like the layering you achieved on the ceiling. The far right panel with the dressmakers is fun too. There's alot of detail in there but it's not too busy. I love that you can see the tails of others in the lower right hand corner.

Congratulations!
