This bit of dialogue from Downton Abbey (muirin007.tumblr.com/post/8781… immediately made me think of Erik and Nadir. I think when it comes to the sass department, Erik and the Dowager Countess might have gotten along swimmingly.I love how 90% of Erik's relationship with Nadir consists of Erik adroitly offering up one quip after the other and of Nadir either a) trying to suppress a growing headache or b) struggling not to strangle Erik. Nadir has the patience of a saint, honestly. I love Erik to pieces, obviously, but I'll tell you what, I would rather deal with a toddler in the throes of the terrible twos than a forty-something wise guy with face issues.

Well, for one thing it's a LOT easier to pick up a toddle in the middle of a tantrum than it would be to try and do the same with Erik. A lot safer, too.

I don't know. As long as I'm not the one the wise-guy's wise-cracks are aimed at, I might enjoy the company. I just really dislike unruly children. Now on the other hand, if he's all full of angst and "why me?" syndrome, I'd probably endure the toddler.

Oh goodness, how perfect! I can see it- Nadir and Mrs. Crowley hanging out, and Erik and the Dowager Countess throwing sarcastic comments back at one another and at the two former. THAT would be an episode of Downton I'd like to see next season lol

I've always loved how expressive Erik is in your drawings, even with the mask on. This one's a great example of it because you can practically feel the sass radiating off him. And it also makes me happy to see another piece with the Persian/Nadir in it too!

HAHA! I would have to verge on the other extreme-the forty year old would be way more fun to listen to and mess with (until he strangled you-but still-way more fun than the two year old)
