So remember when I said;A: I don't sketch on my tablet
B: I haven't been doing much digital art
Well I've decided to rectify this and create this for myself. I wanted a new avatar. Honestly I am not too pleased with the background, I didn't really know what to do. I tried experimenting a little

Nicely colored and the scales are pretty well executed. You should draw him a second eyebrow thoughΒ and change the position of the nose hole a bit, also your positioning of the shading still needs some work, otherwise it's pretty good.

Don't know. I Spent a lot of time messing around in photoshop, watched a lot of slowed down speedpaints and tutorials, and mostly just looked at others art and tried to understand what they did and I don't. I'm nowhere near where I want to be, my works are still heavily flawed.

Your work's heavily flawed? Sorry sir but I beg to differ, yours is amazing. See you've been on DA for 6 years, plus if you've drawn beforehand then you have more than enough experience. I've only been drawing for a year and 6 months and the quality of my work shows.Β

No, no it is. When I look back in my gallery I descover a lot of errors and of course things I would do better today.
Even with my most rescent one I still see a few errors (for instance, the space between spyro's eyes and his snaut is not equal ...eugh!)
Remember, this is not a race. You have all time in the world. I know a few people allready told you that.
Also one thing I can say is, that how reamarkebly fast you improved between this
and this one.
It's much more detailed and cleaner and you have become much more secure with art between then and now. I also see alot of improvement with your eyes.
The only thing is that you applied in that old picture right, was what I critized in this one.
Thats a case where looking back on your old work can be very helpfull, so you don't forget to do stuff you already did good in the past.
Also, take as many references as you can, just don't copy or trace.
I'm sure you will reach this point when you are satisfied with your work eventually. Don't give up!

I don't see any errors with your drawings, I see plenty with mine but that's because I am an Amateur. You on the other hand have great pieces of work,Β Spyro the Purple Dragon Β that's just amazing, I'll never be able to do that level of art and that's fact, I can't create these amazing masterpieces like everybody else, instead I am stuck doing a headshot or a generic standing pose with a smiling face, That pretty much shows how worthless my syle is.
I'm never going to be satisfied with my work, I'm just not good enough.Β
