Description
This piece is going to be used in a shadow box that I'm working on. Some of you may remember my wild hair up the butt idea I had of making some type of hand cranked automaton last year. Well as I got going I came to terms with the fact that I just don't have the tools and know how to get that really going, but I do have lots of bits and pieces that I've worked on to use for it, so I'll be turning it more into a standard shadow box. As of now I've completed this main figure for the piece. The girl is based on one of my favorite pin ups India Rose. I'm like 75% happy with the likeness, but it works.
I was really pulling my hair out to come up with a theme for the box then I saw some photos of an old cabaret that existed in France in the early 1900's called Cabaret du L'Enfer "The Hell Tavern". [link]
I plan on recreating the crazy gaping mouth entrance on the outside of the box. For the inside I have the figure and some fancy velvet curtains. I won't have the space to quite reproduce the demons and ghouls but I want to work them in in some fashion. I also want to cross over some imagery from Cabaret du Neant "Tavern of Death, Nothingness"

I'll be adding lots of little extra details to the figure, feathers rhinestones, I want to do some 3d modeling over the chair to give it more dimension.

The final touch will be some ligthing inside to simulate fire. Anyhoo...Lots of work to go on this, but before I move on I thought I should make a nice 2d image to share...just incase there is a distster or laziness to finish!
