Decided to change up my previous OC Caligo. A lot.

For one, her colour scheme's now a pinkish-red with a flowing violet mane and a pink Saddle Arabian collar and veil. I only chose her previous blue colour because that was the one colour I associated with genies after Disney's Aladdin. So that was lazy on my part.

Secondly, she's no longer a villain. Because A, we already had a villain who can warp reality with a snap of his fingers, in the form of Discord. And B, looking back at my backstory for her old design, and how repetitive MLP's become with giving all their villains the same "I got screwed over by my friends one time so I'm gonna destroy the world" design, I realised I was trying to make you guys feel sympathetic/want a redemption for someone who mercilessly wants to destroy Equestria and make its population suffer.

So her new bio is this:

From the deepest sands of Saddle Arabia hails the great genie Caligo, imprisoned inside a golden oil lamp. Her top half is a young Saddle Arabian mare with a pinkish-red coat and a beautiful ethereal violet mane, complete with the traditional garb of a genie including the shackles, earrings and a veil.
During her thousand years of solitude and her lamp having travelled all over Equestria in that time, Caligo only saw the worst in ponykind. The literal thousands of masters she had seemed nice on the surface but turned out to be greedy and self-centred deep down. Every single one of her masters promised her the same thing: to wish for her freedom. But the outcome was always the same: they either “forgot” or went back on their word, choosing instead to abuse her power for their own personal gain, be it fame, riches or petty vengeance.

As a result, Caligo has never experienced real compassion and possesses difficulty trusting or making bonds with anyone she meets. But that all changes one day when her lamp finds its way into Spike's blind buy from his visit to the antique shop with Twilight. When he meets her after polishing her lamp, Caligo is amazed when the little dragon doesn't waste his wishes right away and instead treats her like a friend rather than a servant. Though snarky and with a tendency to be slightly impatient, Caligo gradually lowers her defences and grows more acquainted with Spike and the Mane Six. He takes her on all sorts of activities including bowling, cooking, exploring the gem caves and even inviting her to Guy's Night with Discord and Big Mac.

Eventually Spike finally uses one of his wishes to grant her freedom, breaking her bond with the lamp and causing her golden shackles and muzzle to disintegrate. Overjoyed, Caligo decides to celebrate her freedom by travelling Equestria but promises to visit Spike and her new friends whenever she can.

Being a genie, Caligo has nearly unlimited cosmic powers, capable of warping reality with a simple wave of her hoof among many other feats such as shapeshifting and self-duplication. Sadly, this also means she cannot travel outside of close proximity of her lamp when imprisoned. And like all genies, her powers are limited to the three genie rules (can’t kill, make others fall in love, reanimate the dead).
