Description
A sculpture based around the idea of death hanging over us all, and our fear of the unknown. The inclusion of both the skull and the broken Victorian pocket watch are representations of death. I used the form of a spider because i fear them, and so the spider form is my personal representation of fear, and by extension my fear of death. The spider is designed to hang from a ceiling mount so its above the head of the viewer. It was mainly constructed from a basic wood and wire frame that i then worked milliput (2 part epoxy putty) over the top of ( i use milliput for most of the things i make). The spider is approx 3ft wide by about 4ft long...i mention this as people seem to think its a small thing when they see photos of it lol.
