Aside he's goofball side hes quite responsable and optimistic although he doesnt have any self control over his actions which causes a lot of trouble for him as he loves to take risks. History:

Raised by his mother who got impregnate from a human man and fleed far away to bear him as she was afraid of what the yokai and humans might react to a child born from both worlds. She was taken in a Okiya where she gave birth and raised Yūdai this contributes to his love for women and his relationship towards them as he learned to love them and respect them althought he at times crosses the line and ends up slapped . As a kitsune he learned little about his powers since his mother worked most of the time so mostly what he knows is what he learned himself and tips his mother and others gave him.

Yū never went to any learning academy he was teached by the geishas in the Okiya until he reached the maturity and traveled , upon his encounters he fell in love with a human girl and settled down living a calm and restful life but being so young and unexperience he coudn't kept the relationship going as he was afraid to have a family as he knew the troubles and fears his mother had for him. He didn't want his child to grow the same way he did so he fled before the relationship turned serious.

Yūdai upon his travels found a baby kappa who named  Kawatarō at the begining it was hard for him to raise him but he remember how things where back in the Okiya he took it as an opotunity to learn how to have a family and how to protect it. He's always in trouble for the way  Kawatarō behaves around woman but thanks to an accident he had with one the woman began to help him raise him. Often at night he glances to his letters of his ex-lover and reflects upon his decisions but he knows he can't no longer go back since a long time has passed.
