Man. This is OLD xD ;Just a part of a layout I made for my livejournal community...which, if you remember, didn't turn out so hot >>;
Reguardless. I still liked the way this image came out, and it did take me a few hours to make Ed and Heiderich look like they were sitting next to eachother x3.

I think they must have slipped up on Heiderich's eyes. The CoS Alphonse would be shorter and his hair darker, and his eyes would be greener. So yes, I suppose this is Alfons.

Just a tiny nit pick though; If this is Alfonse Heiderich, then the eyes should be blue rather the the hazel of Alphonse Elric.

Oh, this is so adorable! <3 I do love the old photo look of the picture, it just makes it so much more lovely. >W< I have to say, the 'don't forget me' comment from Hei, along with the whole squeezing hands thing does emphasise that it wasn't just two random blondes living together. >< I agree. Flipping animators and their love of leaving plot holes. But at least it gives us yaoi fangirls something to set our minds too >3 Great job!

I totally agree! I mean, come on, we're supposed to believe that these two adolescent, sexy-as-hell boys live together for years and NEVER get it on? I find that hard to swallow.
Also, when Heiderich and Ed get into their big argument and Hei decides to leave, notice: Heiderich gets his clothes out of the dresser in Ed's room...subtle subtext? I think so.
And I totally agree with you. That moment of holding hands spoke volumes between them.

XDD Ahaha. Also, I love how suited Hei is to Ed. Because they're so stubborn, the pair of them, and Alfons is sweet, Ed is.. well, Ed XD;; And for whatever reason, they really do go together well. Alfons is an utter sweetheart ;-; And the expression he wears when he dies PROVES he felt something for Ed! It was an "I'm glad that at least I got you home" Expression ;-;
I'm still in love with your work of this ^.~ It's seriously gorgeous. The authors must have just taken them slightly further apart so fangirls wouldn't assume, but really? They'd be that close >3

Well, thought I'd post my comments here, too. 
This is a wonderful picture! I always loved the original, and I like that you've moved the two closer together. You've made the characters' repositions look really natural, as though that was how the original picture was actually made. I also like how there's an overall sepia-colored tone to it, and the simple background and fingerprint smudges give the picture a photograph kind of feel. (Did that make sense?)
Seeing this picture helped me come to terms with the ending of the movie - even through all that's happened, Ed and Al still have each other and will succeed.
By the way, has anyone noticed that the title of the book in Ed's hand is "Frankenstein"? Hah! How appropriate...

Oh man, I know what you mean. The end of the movie KILLED me T___T!! Especially the way that Edward was upset, but not THAT upset after Heiderich passed on. That bugged the hell out of me after the movie was over. When I saw that picture I was like- damn it! Move closer you to >O!! So I shoved them right up against eachother. It seemed obvious to me ( at least in the english dub ) that Ed and Heiderich had a very deep friendship, and I wish that the movie had touched on their relationship more.

It really really bothered me that Edward wasn't very upset over Heiderich's passing on. I mean, he lives with the boy for two years, and the poor boy sacrifices himself for Edward, and all he does is gasp. -____-;;;
But, anyway, I agree with you, I think they did have a close friendship. ^^ I wish they would come out with... a prequel of sorts. One that tells about how Edward and Heiderich met, and how they grew to trust each other. (As well as how Al was with Winry, and Roy, and all of that)

I agree! I really wish they gave a little more backstory on how Ed and Heiderich became friends other then 'Um..yeah, they both liked rockets...and um..yeah.'.. You know?
It's obvious they have a meaningful friendship and, like you said, they HAD been living together for 2 years, but none of that gets shown very thuroughly in Conqueor of Shamballa.

*take an Ed spaz about him being short, shoot it up a couple of octaves, make it about 10 times longer and have the words be "so cute" "great job" "love" and a lot of other indistinguishable fangirl jarble language and you have my reaction*
And all while I should be studying spanish vocabulary, too...
