Aw, shucks--thanks! I haven't had a lot of time to make new ones, unfotunately.

I can only imagine! I tried/am trying to make 1 animation, and it's only a minute long, and not a WHOLE lot happens in it.... and my god animating is hardwork!

MurderousAutomaton In reply to Dragonnis [2010-10-16 22:40:57 +0000 UTC]

I know! It's so rewarding, though. But it's always been much harder than drawing--generally, I don't even feel like drawing is work, but animation sure feels like work!

I'm learning animation in one of the biggest animation studios in my country, and my teacher shows us your cartoon as an example of great animation. You really should be proud! It's the only part of the class that isn't boring!

Ha, ha--thanks! That sounds like a cool class, though. What studio is it?

I really don't know how is it called in English. It is the most important Croatian film studio, though.

Lol I don't know where you live, but they had some world-known works, like...umm...Surogat and Baltazar series for kids...and a few more I don't know, cuz it's holidays and I'm lazy.

Ha, ha--gotcha. I live in the US, so we're not exposed to a lot of animation from other countries, except for Japan. It's too bad--Adult Swim shows a lot of stuff from Britain and Japan, but not much from anywhere else. I guess the internet's probably the best bet for finding animation from around the world.

I got to see some animation from all over the world at the Ottawa International Animation Festival back in 2006. I've wanted to go back, but it's so expensive!

Lol. Was it interesting in Ottava?

MurderousAutomaton In reply to ArsDraconis95 [2010-07-09 00:20:55 +0000 UTC]

Totally! What a beautiful city! So full of history, and it had a lot of museums. And the festival was great--so many nights of different screenings and movies. We saw a film by a Japanese director--all stop-motion Kabuki, based on a Japanese folktale. It was awesome! The 23-hour bus trip out there wasn't quite as much fun, though.

ArsDraconis95 In reply to MurderousAutomaton [2010-07-09 05:49:16 +0000 UTC]

Heh. I love bus trips. There's nothing you MUST do, and you're still advancing. Gives you time to think, too.

Stop-motion animation! I love it! Tried it, didn't turn out so well...=/

MurderousAutomaton In reply to ArsDraconis95 [2010-07-09 18:20:03 +0000 UTC]

That's true! Though after 23 hours it did get pretty old...

I know! I love stop-motion animation! It has such a great feel to it. I've never tried it before, but I'd love to if I can get my hands on the equipment. Well, I guess I sort of tried it once, but it was such a haggard attempt I won't officially count it.

No, I'm sure yours was better than mine! It was only one shot in my video anyway--it wasn't even an entire animation!

ArsDraconis95 In reply to MurderousAutomaton [2010-07-10 09:08:26 +0000 UTC]

Mine was an ugly animation of a robot Bionicle toy. It was supposed to dance...

Sweet! That's a good idea. I had no puppets--mine was just a little desk drawer opening on its own. It looked choppy as hell!

MurderousAutomaton In reply to xfunsizex [2010-02-15 03:52:59 +0000 UTC]

Wow, thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun to make! I drew the frames by hand and adjusted them in Photoshop, then compiled them in Macromedia Director and Premiere. It's an out-dated way of animating, but it works! ^_^

xfunsizex In reply to MurderousAutomaton [2010-02-15 05:10:12 +0000 UTC]

oh okay that's awesome!
yeah im doing 2nd year illustration at uni this year, and in Animation design class they said we will have to use director...which i have no experience at all in using!
but i love all your work!! it really makes me laugh!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MurderousAutomaton In reply to xfunsizex [2010-02-15 20:43:13 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I really appreciate that. ^_^ That's cool! I didn't realize they still taught animation with Director nowadays! It's not that hard to learn--it's a lot like Flash. Basically you're placing images or "sprites" on the screen into a timeline, then you play it back and they all play in order. It's pretty cool!

Anyway, good luck with it! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. If you ever want any advice, feel free to ask!

well im sure u will hear from me soon when i get stuck with something!
i might watch some tutorials too...
thanks for the advice!

Your animations are AMAZING! I'm attempting to do hand drawn animations myself for an independent study, I was wondering how many frames all together you drew for this animation and the tools you use to draw/put the final animation together
