theres no way to make a happy ending. Nasuahda is the only one who can really bring the land to peace and basically everyone knew of Murtagh and hated him to see them together would undermine all her authority, not to mention if they were together secretly word would come out and war would start. The dwarves would leave the varden since he killed their king and such. THeres no way, BUT there is always the possibility of Each of them falling in love again with other people. But i agree, the ending was very sad for the two of them. But i am sooo glad that C.P. didn't kill Murtagh. I would have cried, burned the book, and died....

I'm really not a fan of Murtagh/Nasuada....

I like it because it shows everyone how much of a good guy Murtagh really is. HE's not evil, he just has lots of hate and fear and he seems to lash out when provoked. But so does everyone. He was forced to do things he didn't want to, and his love/consern/friendship with nasuada shows that he can love, and do the right thing over himself...lots of character came with it...

I love their friendship and how he risks everything to help her through the pain and emotional side of the whole thing, but as a couple, I'm not fond of their relationship.

Not really, Some people belive in Child sacrifice, i belive that it is murder. If i just 'understand them' then im saying, "i dont agree with it, but im not going to do anything about it" and BTW, there are people cults out there that do sacrifice children...
