As a former stalker, I know first-hand how horrible stalking is both for the aggressor and the survivor. The people I stalked felt horribly uncomfortable while I always over-contemplated about them for ages.
So my message is this: do not stalk, as it may seem worth it at the time but it can ruin your life. There are many better uses for your life and many fish in the sea. Don't let yourself get wound up in someone who doesn't want to be with you. Make best friends with the people who do like you. If nobody does, participate like a normal human on forums, websites, and other things, then friends will eventually come your way.
Talk respectfully and most importantly: learn social boundaries. It can be hard to let people you want go, but it's really worth it in the end. I learned things the hard way. Stalking is a nonvictimless (by that I mean all it makes are victims, not that it doesn't have any victims) crime and can also be illegal if it goes too far. There are always others out there, so why set yourself to a select few?

Tell that to Mach68. That creep is obsessed with me- he follows me everywhere on Deviantart and says my name in comments. I blocked him because he spams my notifications with unwanted things but he threw a hissy fit and now is gonna stalk me to the grave. He also acts like this because he's a fan of Naruto (the biggest Gary Stu in fiction) which poisoned his mind. Watching that stupid series poisons everybody's mind and turns them into criminals. I just wanna browse DA and have fun without being harassed by anyone. :/

I fully admit that I and another person cyberstalked each other because at least in my case, I was young, dumb, and had never experienced someone hating me so fucking much for NO REASON online. Suffice to say the least, I stopped quite a while ago. I get the feeling they have their friends cyberstalk me still to "keep an eye on me". Kind of sad and fucked up. This shit started over 17 years ago (!)

I'm being stalked by a guy just because I don't like a character he likes.

Constantly checking sent notes to see if it is read or unread can also constitute as stalking. DA needs to add a feature that gives users the ability to set their note system so that if someone sends a note to them, the sender would never be able to tell whether or not the note had been read. That would also be a good add-on for invisible users.

I am so sorry. My heart goes out to you. It's absolutely f*cking disgusting. A relentless, chronic case is happening to me right now, and it turned my perfect life upside down in an instant, and having to battle depression and constant feelings of hatred and loathing again. I hate feeling this way. If only he'd go away and never come back, I could finally be happy again.
To you, and everyone that this is happening to, my heart goes out to you--- that you find help, and that we may overcome this wretched disease together. Because (Cyber)Stalking is one of the most despicable, selfish, and unforgivable things that a human can do to another human.

it's okay. i learned to take it one day at a time and try to get on with my life the best I can.
though the sad part is, what I typed here is only a small fraction of the things she's done to me in the past and i did write a couple journals about it under the title stolen, where she had taken over a character of mine and stole it to keep my work entirely for herself... and she also tried changing me to become someone i'm not: a copy of her. It's like she's jealous of me and wants to own me, but looking at my art, i don't know if it's something for anyone to be jealous of or not. I'm an average artist... okay for anthro art, but i could certainly use a lot more practice and room for improvement. whatever, i'm done. from here on out, i'm taking back all the characters she had taken over and destroyed in the RPG I did with her a long time ago and make them completely mine again...

Yeah, screw that noise. No one can take your characters from you-- that'd be the kind of thing that I would report for plagiarism if they could do something about it, you know? The sick and nasty things that people do to one another is unbelievable. It's still surprising me, actually, and I thought that I couldn't be surprised much more...
For YEARS? How pathetic. Hey, if you both live in the same country, you could get her with anti-stalking laws. I know that I certainly would. And I commend you for being who you are and not deleting your account and making a new one. I did before, and although I love my new username and hated my old one, I wish that I learned earlier to have the strength to carry on, no matter WHO tries to bring me down.
How do you carry on? What's your secret? Does it ever still bother you? I am finding that this is something that I will have to start doing, too, to be happy again-- to simply ignore the worthless, sub-human lowlifes who have NOTHING better to do than to make others' lives miserable. I wish I could spit on their graves, and hope they don't even get that much of a luxury.
But that negativity aside, I think your art is lovely and your style is charming. I'm a part-time anthro deep down, myself.

sadly she lives in sweden and there's nothing i can really do about it. i've also reported her to the staff numerous times but i always had the same response: just ignore her, she'll stop eventually. but the thing is, she won't stop and because she has asperger's syndrome, she has no social cues whatsoever, let alone a conscience.
what's my secret? it's nothing really. i just keep everything I have friends only or private with the exception of deviantart and i keep blocking and rejecting her friend requests. then i'd try to go about my daily as if she never existed and focus on recreating everything she had taken over and destroyed. I would post my new profiles online but due to theft from her and others, i'd much rather keep them safe on my hard drive and send them to my most trusted friends so they can enjoy them, especially if i'm going to be role playing with them. then we can both understand our character's backgrounds and work together to create some storyline or do things randomly for sheer amusement.
perhaps the thing that really helped me is time. it's been at least seven months or so since her last major attack and i began to realize that I better work hard to wash my hands from her blood and walk away from the situation as far as possible. She's going to get her way with me no matter what by stealing that character from me and there's nothing I could do or say that would make her take down the drawings and write the character out of her storyline. I also realized that she is stuck with a trainwreck Mary Sue and eventually the character will remind her of all the crap she's put me through to get her way with me for the last time. She will ask herself if getting her way was more important than an 8 year friendship and if she thinks that getting her way is more important to her then she'll experience many more problems in the future and she will reap what she's sown. I just pray that her punishment won't be severe but enough for her to learn a lesson about respecting other people's space, privacy, characters and their storylines.
Another helpful thing is to create new characters to replace the ones that were lost and have them the way I had intended them to be and it inspired me to develop one of my current characters a bit further. My character Eos is a gynecologist, but she's very cynical of the world and a hardcore feminist. She doesn't have many close friends and she has an obsessive stalker on her tail who had been tormenting her since high school. It gives me an opportunity to not only rant about the situation but to make some kind of humor out of it as well. so keep bothering me you little pest. It only gives me more ideas.
Thanks for liking my gallery, even though it's been very quiet for most of the year. i'm quite flattered!

=RoboticMasterMind and I have been having this issue with this one particular stalker called *DHTSciFiMaster we have tried to ignore him and even block him but he has bipassed our blocks on another website and continued stalking our pages again just after a few months of leaving us alone. One of my friends had suggested to just simply "ignore it" but we both know full well that's not the cure all for every problem, not to mention that the guy will find more victims to harass and stalk.

I'm sorry that's happening to you guys. CyberStalking is no better than actual stalking. Both are illegal. I'm not sure if it has come to a serious point in which he/she is actually threatening your livelihood or making physical threats, but, my suggestion that if he/she is going that far, it's time to get the authorities involved.

It's not really stalking if it's wanted, lol. Not sure what you'd call it, though.

None at all. Other people have gotten hurt because of it..and there are laws against this type of crime.
