A more sarcastic and direct version of my recent Bible thumper stamp

I got inspired when I was reading Tailsteak 's most recent blog entry wherein he refers to Fred Phelps of Westboro Baptist church infame as a "cartoon supervillain." Really .

This all happens in the Bible, if anyone hasn't read it: On multiple occasions, God fulfills a promise it made to the Israelites by freeing them from slavery dozens of times, but is merciful and forgiving enough to the slavers that it still heals their ailments, even raising a Centurion's daughter from the dead. In a scene that was both ironic and disturbingly relevant to modern times, Jesus was even quoted saying that the Jews had completely and totally failed to be as faithful as the Romans.
And of course everybody knows Jesus died on the cross so that we could all be forgiven of our sins.

Now, of course, many people have always argued and will always argue that God did a number of bad things in the Bible, but the fact remains that Christians who behave so violently and hatefully are clearly skipping over the important sections of the Bible wherein God repeatedly demonstrates its love and endlessly open-minded ability to forgive and forget.
