Quiet - Albella doesn’t share many of her words with strangers save the compliments on appearance. Short conversations will be held while on an afternoon walk. Most of her talking is done while she is working on a portrait.
Unbothered - When others make a mistake, she lets it slide. While Albella’s external appearance is largely feminine, she doesn’t mind her masculine attributes being pointed out.
Focused - Art is Albella’s life and without it she may wallow in the constantly shifting sea of emotion. Taking hours out of her day to capture an image isn’t an uncommon practice.
Passionate - While playful banter isn’t a typical way into Albella’s mind, when art of any kind is brought up she gets as chatty as a kid in a candy store. Bridle making, yeah let’s share tips! Painting, what dyes do you use?
Conflicted - In public Albella is another casual soul of Aodh. Behind closed curtains she questions who and what she is. It was revealed to her at an early age, her predicament. Early attempts to appear masculine were in vain, but femininity is just as difficult some days.
Facade - Albella is good at hiding her inner conflicts and puts forth a solid wall to come off as happy. She feels that if someone else is worried about her, then they will feel compelled to speak to her and leave her no time to work.
Playful - On days without work Albella will go out a play with the local foals. It brings her such joy to see the youngsters having a good time and sometimes can't hold back from going and bounding along with them.
Melancholy - It can be hard tell what emotions lie behind a monotone voice. Behind the bubbly and playful facade lays a tired mare scarred with loss and confusion. Albella has not been able to unveil the meaning of her apparent sadness to another and for this, has not made a true connection.
Delusional - From the first time she heard about her brother, Albella took it upon herself to keep him "alive". While he never became an imaginary friend to converse with while awake, he would always be there in her dreams. As she has grown older she has become aware that her brother doesn't possess a conscious mind. Despite Albella's attempts to push away her imaginary sibling, old habits die hard.
Protective - Albella will do anything to keep her family safe, often putting their safety above her own. The thought that something could go wrong constantly hangs over her head and has put her in a state of hypervigilance. If someone were to find out about them. Only Gods know what Albella would do to defend the family.
"But he who cannot unveil himself cannot love, and he who cannot love is the unhappiest one of all."
— Søren Kierkegaar
History:
Before and After Birth -
After being told they were blessed with twins Mardarit and Taelin were overjoyed. This joy would be halted temporarily. Mardarit was absent from the birth to work out business, leaving Taelin with a friend acting as a midwife. The steel colored mare was shocked at the sight of a tricolored foal and worriedly waited for the labor to bring the missing twin. Hours passed and Taelin was informed about the foal’s abnormality. As another new parent might look upon the child with distaste, Taelin held more love for the newborn than before. When Mardarit returned she broke the new joyfully, but he showed no interest in the truth. The two artisans loved the strange foal equally, but showed it in different ways. After hours of thought, they decided to name her Albella.
Adolescence and Teen -
Albella had a difficult childhood. A combination of trying to accept who she was and why together with the other children taunting her. While she was accepted by most, some still claim she killed her brother in the womb. In her own imagination her dreams grew from lush, empty landscapes, to ones including what she imagined her brother would have looked like. Once these dreams started, Albella tried taking on a more feminine persona. Also following this, she began sleeping twice as much as the others, wanting to spend more time playing with the black colt in her dreams.
Albella’s father played a big part in her artistic learning process. During a lesson on dying leather she had knocked over a capsule of red dye on leftover canvas. He hadn’t scolded her, but encouraged the addition of more color to the cloth. In a family of leather workers, Albella thought less praise would follow, but her seemingly natural talent in painting, no scolding came. Spending hours a day combining pigments to create fantastic images, Albella started her painting career by taking scraps of canvas and carefully applying dye to create vibrant landscapes.
Albella didn’t complete her first portrait until she was 16. After asking a passerby in the market to model for her, she tested out new oils. The completed portrait was an almost mirrored image of the stranger and was proudly hung outside her home. Few came in to have a portrait painted, considering how long it took. After honing her skills, Albella took to capturing the fighting spirit of the pit fighters by sketching a scene in charcoal on parchment and later work on a dyed painting.
Young Adult to Present -
In recent years Albella has painted horses all the way from Nobility to prize winning pit slaves and even the city’s beautiful servile slaves. Despite the joy of brushing shoulders with the higher ups and being given the privilege of creating art for them, troubles from her youth still hung. The black colt from her dreams had been growing with her all these years. In recent times they began speaking of separate lives. Albella was shocked at this new development. A dream figure. A product of her imagination was talking to her as if he had his own life. One night after a rare romantic encounter, Albella fell into a deep slumber. The resulting dream would leave her silent the next morning. After the normal conversation with her “brother” the end of the dream drew near and the black horse locked eyes with her and spoke grimly. “Why won’t you set me free?” She awoke in a cold sweat. Claiming it as a fever dream, she took back to a “regular” life. Beneath the skin, turmoil returned.
Albella has remained in a low profile by selling landscapes between commissions. The city has grown tight for her and painting the same district areas over and over have become tiresome. She wishes to travel outside the city limits and capture the natural beauty of the borders.
Chapter Events + Extras:

Just outside the doors, Alois makes a stand and vows a revolution. After the trial, Albella and Alois put their plan into motion and Alois escapes Valore through help of Castiel, Flamen of the Azar Sanctum and a Smuggler. Bean is quite the character. A beautiful bird who for the most part acts regal as any other would. Bean, however, is prone to screaming at Albella
Kuma the Sabertooth- Melanistic Sabertooth (built like a tank holy crap)
Kuma is the newest addition to the Maeral family and purchased through growing concern for the family's safety. While she has been socialized, Kuma is trained as a protection animal and is conditioned to show aggressive posture when out of the home. In home, however, Kuma is a classic couch-potato.
